We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong DevOps and automation expertise to join our growing team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will work on a large-scale software framework within the wind energy sector, helping to build and maintain the automation, build, test, validation and release processes that support critical engineering solutions used globally.
Working closely with software engineers, technical specialists and stakeholders, you will contribute throughout the entire development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment, adoption and handover.
Your Responsibilities
As our new Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in establishing robust and scalable development processes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing Azure DevOps and GitHub CI/CD pipelines
- Creating reusable pipeline templates and automation solutions using PowerShell and Python
- Provisioning and maintaining self-hosted Windows build environments using Terraform and Ansible
- Integrating automated testing and validation processes into release workflows
- Supporting Git repository migrations, branching strategies and pull request governance
- Developing reliable integrations with a strong focus on quality, observability and maintainability
- Producing technical documentation, operational runbooks and architectural designs
- Collaborating with customer engineering teams and mentoring colleagues when relevant
Your Technical Environment
You will be joining a highly technical environment where modern DevOps practices and automation are at the centre of software delivery. Together with a team of experienced engineers, you will work with technologies such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python to build scalable automation solutions and support the full software lifecycle.
Depending on the project, you may also work with technologies including .NET, C++, CMake, automated testing frameworks and engineering software platforms used within the renewable energy sector.
What We Are Looking For
You are an experienced software engineer who enjoys automating complex processes and enabling efficient software delivery. You combine strong technical skills with a structured and collaborative approach, and you thrive when working closely with colleagues and customers to solve complex challenges.
We imagine that you have:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps, automation or developer tooling
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub pipelines
- Solid PowerShell scripting skills
- Experience working with Terraform and Ansible
- Strong understanding of Git and repository migration practices
- Experience with software testing, integrations and automation
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience collaborating directly with engineering stakeholders and customers
- Professional proficiency in English
It Is an Advantage If You Also Have Experience With
Experience with C#/.NET, C++, CMake or Python development will be considered an advantage. Likewise, familiarity with MATLAB, PSCAD or other engineering software environments is highly relevant. Previous experience working in a consulting environment or customer-facing engineering roles is also valued.
